Job Specifications
Ensure overall legal compliance that will protect the interests of the Company and its employees
Set the strategic direction of the total mining process within the Botswana business
Establish the goals for the business and monitor business performance against those goals
Lead a diverse team that will deliver on the strategic operational goals
Ensure that all the requisite management systems and processes are in place to manage the business
Drive a performance culture through the optimization of human resources, systems and technology
Ensure effective communication between all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external
Coordinate interaction between minesite departmentsMinimum Requirements
BSc Mining Engineering or other relevant technical qualification
Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
Blasting Certificate
A Post Graduate qualification in Business Management would be advantageous
Generally good knowledge on the Mining Legislation, rules, compliances, safety, socioeconomic development, excellent labour relations skills
At least 15 years technical experience in both underground and open cast mining of which at least 5 years General Management experience
Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team
Experience in the construction of a mine and managing a developing mine
Experience with engaging communities and their established structures
Willingness to travel internationally
