Our client, a major mining concern based in Africa would like to consider applications from Open Pit Mine Manager professionals for their operations. This is a flyinflyout contract single status position. Reports to the General Manager Mining.
Salary tax free plus benefits.
REQUIREMENTSDegree in Mining Engineering, with Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
Fluency in English, and good communication in French.
African experience essential.
Post graduate qualification in Business Management is an advantage.
10 years experience and at least 3 years working exposure as an appointed Open Pit Mine Manager for a largescale mine is essential.
Ensure effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to.
Able to ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the business unit.
Able to effectively interact with various stakeholders Safety, Planning, Maintenance, Processing, Contractors, etc..
Able to implement and maintain sound people management and development practices to ensure a productive workforce.
Able to develop and execute the strategic visionplan for the business unit and directly assist the GMM in the tactical management process via transformationaleffective leadership.
Act as the custodian for innovation, technology and best practices at open pit mining level.
Ensure environmental and social concerns in open pit operations are managed as a strategic focus tegic thinking and planning skills are essential
Computer literacy MS Office is essential.
The position requires a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills and strong leadership to be part of driving profitable and effective business outcomes.
Medically fit in order to obtain a medical certificate.
Able to work in a multicultural environment.
